Sevnce Robotics Co in Liangjiang New Area has signed a memorandum of understanding with Basf, a Global Fortune 500 company, to advance the integration of the robotics and chemical materials industries.
The two companies will focus on key applications, exploring the deployment of Sevnce Robotics' products and intelligent inspection solutions at Basf facilities to facilitate the industry's digital and automated evolution.
The partnership will explore the application of materials science to the lightweight design of quadruped and humanoid robots by utilizing Basf's advanced technologies in engineering plastics, thermoplastic polyurethane, and polyurethane systems.
Basf, a significant foreign-invested enterprise in China's chemical sector, has 12,452 employees across production bases in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Chongqing, with its sales in Greater China reaching approximately 8.2 billion euros ($9.45 billion) in 2025.
Stephan Kothrade, president and chairman of Basf Greater China, expressed excitement about deepening strategic cooperation with Sevnce Robotics, noting that his company aims to enhance the safety, lightweight design, intelligence, and customization of robotic solutions.
Zhu Dong, chairman of Sevnce Robotics, highlighted the company's commitment to scaling the application of intelligent inspection solutions across Basf's global sites, exploring the integration of new materials and smart devices.
Sevnce Robotics has developed and produced a full range of explosion-proof robotic products, including quadruped, wheeled, and rail-mounted robots, designed for extreme environments characterized by high and low temperatures, severe corrosion, flammability, explosiveness, and toxicity.
