A group of young representatives from universities across the United States, including the University of California, Los Angeles, recently embarked on the 2026 US Youth Sci-tech and Culture Exchange Tour.

Their journey took them to Liangjiang New Area, where they were introduced to the region's cutting-edge technological innovations and dynamic urban cultural spaces.

The delegation visited sites such as Theseus and the Seres Super Factory, delving into advancements in intelligent sensing technology and observing the intricacies of smart manufacturing processes in the new energy vehicle sector.

Nora Andrea Martinez, an engineering student from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, expressed her admiration for China's innovative strides.

At the Seres Super Factory, the delegation witnessed over 3,000 robots working in perfect harmony, where robotic arms welded and assembled components, while Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems navigated pre-planned routes with remarkable efficiency.

Martinez was impressed by features such as the in-cabin projection system, mini-fridge, and massage functions. "If I were planning to buy a car and Seres was available in the US, it would certainly be a top consideration," she said, highlighting the car's luxurious and intelligent features as major attractions for consumers.

The delegation also visited the Beicang Historical and Cultural Block, where industrial heritage blends with a thriving business community. Originating from a 1960s textile warehouse, the area has retained its original architecture and ancient trees, while transforming into a lively district now housing libraries, cafes, and restaurants.
