Avatr Technology, a high-end new energy vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, has signed a cooperation agreement with Smartcom, a subsidiary of Huawei, aiming to advance the high-quality development of China's intelligent connected new energy vehicle (NEV) industry.

The collaboration will focus on establishing standardized process systems, building a team of top-tier service professionals, and creating benchmark stores to enhance services, including in-store consultations, test drives, vehicle and after-sales support.

This agreement marks a new stage of deeper collaboration, coordinated development, and long-term mutual benefit for Avatr and Huawei — a partnership that dates back to 2023, when Changan Automobile and Huawei signed an investment cooperation memorandum.

Avatr completed a three-phase payment totaling 11.5 billion yuan ($1.69 billion), acquiring 10 percent of the equity held by Huawei in Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co and becoming one of only two automotive shareholders.

Avatr and Huawei also announced that, in 2025, they will upgrade the HI model to the HI PLUS Joint Co-Creation Model, expanding their cooperation to include user insights, product definition, product development, and integrated marketing.

Additionally, the two companies plan to launch 17 products by 2030, covering segments such as sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, with five upgraded models set to debut in 2026. Avatr plays a pioneering role in Huawei's QianKun technology system, as the first to mass-produce vehicles equipped with Huawei's QianKun Intelligent Driving ADS High-Speed L3 solution, MoLA-enhanced HarmonyOS cockpit L3, and 896-line LiDAR.
