Changan Automobile announced its global strategy at the Changan Group Global Strategy Launch and Global Partner Conference on April 21, aiming to secure a position among the world's top 10 automakers by 2030.

The strategy positions Changan as a world-class automotive hub focusing on four key business areas: complete vehicles, components, modern services, and ecosystem industries.

It outlines four major transformational goals: smart, green, global, and integrated development. Changan aims to achieve significant growth across key metrics by 2030, including a fivefold increase in sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs), overseas vehicle sales, revenue, profit, and brand value.

The company has set specific targets, including selling 2.4 million NEVs and 1.5 million vehicles overseas, with a target revenue of 600 billion yuan ($87.96 billion) and brand value of 200 billion yuan.

Changan will integrate resources from its Avatr and Deepal brands to form a mid-to-high-end brand group with a global presence exceeding 1.5 million units, with more than 40 percent of sales expected from international markets.

Changan is also committed to enhancing the customer experience, advancing powertrain technology, and creating value to achieve its strategic objectives, including continued investment in hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen technologies.

To drive growth in NEV and overseas market sales, Changan plans to streamline its product lineup from 63 to 36 models over the next five years — a reduction of 43 percent. The company aims to develop one model with annual sales of 500,000 units and five models with annual sales of 300,000 units each.
