Liangjiang New Area is addressing the widespread challenge of "who will care for the children?" by implementing effective solutions and developing a comprehensive childcare service system.

To meet the needs of infants and toddlers, especially those under two years old, Liangjiang is pioneering an integrated medical-education model. For example, a new childcare service center, soon to launch in collaboration with the People's Hospital of Liangjiang New Area, exemplifies this innovative approach.

The center offers classes designed for infants (0-1 year), toddlers (1-2 years), and mixed-age groups (1.5-3 years), with daily health checks conducted by medical professionals.

"We focus on both caring for children and monitoring their growth and development," said Cai Yixi, director of the Center and the Pediatrics Department at the hospital. By integrating pediatric clinical insights, the curriculum transforms routine childcare into developmental interventions.

For children with special needs, such as those with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), the center provides specialized classes supported by special education teachers and psychologists.

Liangjiang also emphasizes accessibility and affordability in its childcare services. Various models are being implemented, including community-based care centers such as the one in the Tianyuan community, Guanyinqiao subdistrict, which offers full-day, half-day, temporary, and hourly care options.

Liangjiang currently has 408 registered childcare institutions, with nearly 80 percent of these institutions integrating childcare and educational services.
