Liangjiang New Area has released its latest data on family doctor contracts to celebrate World Family Doctor Day on May 19.
The area is now home to over 700 registered family doctors and has established 388 family doctor teams, with contract rates exceeding 67 percent for the general population and more than 91 percent for key groups.
Liangjiang hosted a promotional event for Family Doctor Day on May 18, featuring a joint free clinic that included contract signing, health check-ups, and public health education.
A standout aspect of the event was the collaboration between top-tier hospital specialists and grassroots general practitioners, who developed comprehensive treatment plans for patients with chronic conditions, including hypertension and diabetes.
A free health check-up area was also available for elderly individuals with mobility challenges.
Liangjiang has set up nearly 80 family doctor stations in communities and elderly service centers, forming a 15-minute healthcare service network.
This initiative enables minor ailments to be treated locally, supporting effective chronic disease management, routine check-ups, and prescription renewals right in their neighborhoods.
