Liangjiang accelerates R&D and application of magnesium materials

A forum focused on big data and intelligent design for magnesium materials was recently held in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, featuring the launch of the Phase Lab Magnesium Alloy Intelligent R&D Platform and the unveiling of the Mingyue Lake Laboratory.

The Phase Lab platform is designed to integrate intelligent modules for composition design and performance prediction, speeding up the transition of magnesium alloys from laboratory research to industrial applications.

The laboratory is set to become a hub for deepening collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions. By focusing on cutting-edge technologies in smart material design, the laboratory aims to drive continuous innovation and support the digital transformation of the magnesium industry.

The forum brought together leading academicians, renowned experts, scholars, and industry representatives from the field of materials science to discuss the intelligent transformation of magnesium alloy research paradigms and the development of a robust industrial ecosystem.

Pan Fusheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and head of the laboratory, highlighted the necessity of utilizing artificial intelligence in magnesium alloy research.

He stressed the importance of building an open and collaborative innovation ecosystem to gain a competitive edge in the future of lightweight materials.

Strategic cooperation agreements were signed with companies such as Chongqing BOE Technology Group Co and China Telecom Chongqing Branch, aiming to foster collaboration in the intelligent design of magnesium alloys, lightweight applications, computational infrastructure, and the research and development of new materials.
