Liangjiang New Area hosted a cultural event on June 13 to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, highlighting the importance of cultural heritage and its accessibility to the public.

The event showcased traditional crafts and customs while promoting cultural preservation through immersive experiences, educational lectures, and interactive quizzes designed to engage the community.

Skilled artisans provided direct instruction, teaching attendees the crafts of palm weaving, dough figurine making, and patchwork embroidery. They also offered insights into the historical evolution and local significance of these traditions.

Participants created their own miniature palm-woven dragon boats, dough figurines, and personalized sachets.

A highlight of the event was the zongzi (rice dumplings)-making experience, where participants gathered to wrap bamboo leaves, fill them with glutinous rice, and tie them with colorful threads, fostering a sense of community and tradition.

This initiative exemplifies Liangjiang's dedication to integrating social science education with cultural preservation, offering a lively and engaging approach to celebrating and sustaining local traditions.
