Chongqing unveils first AI smart terminal R&D and manufacturing hub

Chongqing's first one-stop hard technology product platform focused on AI smart terminals, the Mingyue Lake Sci-Tech Innovation Park Shared Factory, is set to commence operations on July 1 in Liangjiang New Area.

"We are bringing professional manufacturing technology, concepts, and efficient service standards to Chongqing, providing robust R&D and manufacturing support to all hard-tech innovation enterprises, universities, and research institutions in the region," said Leng Yanyong, head of the shared factory.

The facility is equipped with a rapid prototyping center, a pilot verification center, a product testing center, a technical support platform, and a supply chain platform. Together, these resources provide comprehensive services, including R&D design, rapid prototyping, reliability testing, pilot-scale pilot maturation, and supply chain support.

The factory is equipped with more than 50 precision processing and testing devices, including three-axis and five-axis CNC machines, 3D printers, and coordinate measuring machines.

It is supported by a team of over 30 manufacturing service professionals and a similar number of technical service staff, working alongside more than 500 high-quality supply chain partners to deliver efficient prototyping services.

The factory has also established five specialized AI smart terminal pilot production lines capable of conducting geometric accuracy and perception interaction tests for robots.

To ensure information security, the factory has implemented stringent data encryption systems and confidentiality management protocols to protect technical and product information during the R&D process.

The factory has delivered promising results during its trial operation, with the average prototyping cycle for enterprise products reduced to just three days and the development cycle shortened from six months to three and a half months.

It is expected to further enhance product success rates by 30 percent, improve concept validation efficiency by 50 percent, and halve the product pilot cycle, helping enterprises reduce development costs by 20 percent.
