Liangjiang New Area hosted an exchange event on July 10 to promote high-quality intellectual property (IP) development through collaboration among government bodies, financial institutions, and industrial enterprises.

At the event, the intellectual property office underscored the importance of registering patent-intensive products and introduced a draft policy to further support high-quality IP development.

Liangjiang currently boasts 24,609 valid invention patents, and IP pledge financing surpassed 1.2 billion yuan ($177 million) in the first half of this year alone.

The upcoming policy will consolidate the existing 39 support projects into 18 streamlined initiatives, while enterprises that complete patent product registration can receive up to 500 yuan per item.

Recognized patent-intensive products are eligible for up to 20,000 yuan each, with an annual cap of 200,000 yuan per enterprise.

Liangjiang has rolled out a "Credit + Intellectual Property" service model, under which enterprises can receive a 25 percent interest subsidy on loans, with an annual cap of 200,000 yuan per enterprise.

The Jiangbei Intellectual Property Platform showcased its functions, services, and operational framework, providing support for standardized IP operations, results transformation, and pledge financing.

Bank representatives introduced exclusive credit products tailored for IP pledge financing, outlining the IP credit approval process, interest rate discounts, and subsidy policies, and offering customized financial solutions for sectors such as electronic information, automotive parts, and intelligent equipment.

Banks have committed to further align with Liangjiang's industrial development needs by optimizing IP credit approval models, streamlining approval processes, and launching more customized financial products.

Enterprise representatives shared their experiences with patent initiatives and business operations, raising questions about the patent pledge loan process, credit limits, risk management, and policy applications.
