Chongqing launches measures to bolster AI entrepreneurship

Chongqing has unveiled 12 measures to support one-person company (OPC) entrepreneurship in artificial intelligence, aiming to foster new entrepreneurial ventures, stimulate solo entrepreneurship, and create high-quality employment opportunities.

The measures tackle common challenges faced by AI OPC entrepreneurs, such as financial constraints, high computational costs, and a lack of entrepreneurial experience. They focus on creating a comprehensive support system that includes policy guidance, training, and services.

A financial support framework has been established, offering "subsidies + special grants + loan financing", under which entrepreneurs can receive a one-time subsidy of up to 8,000 yuan ($1,185) per household, based on the number of jobs created.

Personal entrepreneurship loans of up to 500,000 yuan and microenterprise loans of up to 6 million yuan are available, with a 50 percent interest subsidy and a maximum guarantee fee subsidy of 0.5 percent per annum.

Efforts are underway to establish new OPC entrepreneurial communities and upgrade existing facilities, providing services such as computational support, AI tool development, and order connections.

A comprehensive training program is available, covering AI applications and content creation, to nurture versatile OPC entrepreneurial talent.

An OPC one-stop service platform has been created, providing online services for business registration, employment registration, and subsidy applications. Eligible AI OPC talents can apply for the New Chongqing Talent Card and participate in basic pension insurance.

Activities like OPC entrepreneurship competitions are held to promote innovation. Additionally, OPC entrepreneurship mentors are trained, and a mentor panel conducts diagnostic tours to facilitate the linkage of upstream and downstream industry resources, helping OPCs secure cooperative orders.
