A tailored class designed to help Chongqing companies expand into Southeast Asian markets was recently held in Liangjiang New Area, where nearly 50 representatives from sectors including manufacturing, tech innovation, and cross-border e-commerce discussed key issues with experts from Ernst & Young (EY) Singapore.

The class focused on critical issues such as government incentive policies, tariff strategies, corporate structures, and IPO planning, equipping Chongqing businesses with a comprehensive understanding of essential pathways for international growth.

A robust corporate structure and effective tax planning are crucial for enhancing a company's ability to expand internationally and capitalize on financing and investment opportunities.

An EY expert highlighted the significance of establishing a solid foundational structure before venturing abroad. Companies were advised to clearly define their business vision, investment models, equity and tax structures, and capital pathways for the next 5 to 10 years.

EY experts collaborated with participating entrepreneurs to dissect common pitfalls in constructing overseas holding structures, expanding ASEAN markets from a Singapore base, pre-financing or IPO planning, managing overseas teams, and personal and family planning for entrepreneurs.

Through detailed knowledge breakdowns and case studies, EY provided a clear analytical framework, utilizing Singapore's accumulated knowledge and experience to support Chongqing companies as they enter international markets.

Authorities have also implemented a brand internationalization initiative, which aims to explore pathways for "brand globalization" by introducing Singaporean professional service providers and aligning with Chongqing's industrial base and cultural attributes.

The initiative will continue to integrate international legal, financial, and logistics partners to create a comprehensive service ecosystem for companies venturing abroad, ensuring that Chongqing enterprises establish stable and valuable connections on the global stage.
