Chongqing Liangjiang New Area held a promotional event on Sept 12 in Manila, the Philippines.

Zhang Li, head of the Liangjiang New Area publicity department, highlighted the Haifu Knife, a medical innovation that provides significant health benefits to Filipino patients, and stressed the impact of Liangjiang-made products in the Philippines, with new energy vehicles and electronic products becoming integral to local daily life.

Liangjiang, which is renowned for its intelligent connected new energy vehicles and next-generation electronic information manufacturing, plans to foster regular exchanges with the Philippines in culture, tourism, education, and traditional Chinese medicine.

The area also aims to support its automotive, electronics, and electromechanical industries in entering the ASEAN market through Manila, seeking to enhance connectivity in trade, logistics, and finance.

Liangjiang's automotive manufacturers, including Changan Automobile and Seres, are expanding into the ASEAN market, transitioning from product exports to capacity cooperation and technology standard exports.

Changan Automobile launched its first overseas new energy vehicle plant in Rayong, Thailand, in 2025, achieving cumulative sales of over 41,000 vehicles by July. Meanwhile, Seres has established a plant in Banten, Indonesia, with an annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles.

High-end medical technology and AI are also becoming key areas for collaboration, with Agytek Digital, a joint venture between Geega and Malaysia's Altel, driving digital transformation.
