Changan Automobile to construct six new operation centers in 2015

Changan Automobile, a pioneer of China's modern automobile industry, will spearhead the construction of six new projects in the Liangjiang's Yufu Industrial Park this year. The company aims to create a new 'Motor City' with a total of eight operation centers.

Changan Automobile will invest 5.5 billion yuan ($879 million) on the new construction projects which will be located on six different lots of land.

A senior staff member from Yufu Industrial Park said that Changan Autobile will construct eight operation centers in the park, including a Global Administrative Center, Global Research Center, Advanced Manufacturing Center, Advanced Logistics Center, Global Information Center, Global Training Center, Global Marketing Center and Advanced Cultural Center. When built, the annual production value of the eight centers will reach 150 billion yuan, with tax revenues of 10 billion. More than 40 supporting enterprises are expected to enter the zone as a result of the construction.

According to a senior staff member from Yufu Industrial Park, Beijing Hyundai Automobile will construct a new factory in Yufu with a first-stage investment of $1.2 billion. The factory is expected to be put into production in the second half of 2016 and have an annual production capacity of 300,000.

"The auto industry in China will continue to grow at a relatively high rate in 2015," according to an auto industry expert.

"More than 80 percent of Chongqing's auto enterprises are located in the Liangjiang New Area and Liangjiang plays an important role in the development of the city's auto industry," said a staff member from the Liangjiang administrative committee.
