Three containers full of premium products left Duisburg in Germany on Aug 7, andare expected to arrive Chongqing by the end of this month, the products were from top European brands and purchased from their point of origin. They included common daily products such as kettles, ear thermometers and infant products and less common German products such as coffee machines and yogurt makers.

After reaching Chongqing, the products will be available on Chongqing's official cross-border ecommerce platform-- igetmall.net – in early September. Previously, it would take three months to get the overseas products ready. However, thanks to Yuxinou Rail logistics, the products will be available within a month. In addition, the tariff is only one eighth that of air transport. With the drop in freight costs, consumers can buy things at lower prices.

According to the free trade port, these products will be transported to the zone for official customs clearance and inspection. A transportation network combining water, air, road and rail transportation has formed, and businesses will be able to choose from any of these transportation modes. All clearances can be finishedin the free trade port.

Liangjiang New Area has been working hard to develop cross-border e-commerce. In May, an experience store of igetmall.net started operations at the exhibition and trading center of the Lianglu Cuntan free trade port zone. This marked its move to combine online and offline business.

While working to cultivate its own e-commerce brand, the free trade port zone has also worked hard to invite businesses. In first half of the year, 98 cross-border ecommerce businesses have settled done in the free port zone, with a total turnover of 153 million yuan, more than three times that of 2014.

So far, these cross-border e-commerce businesses can enjoy free trade, customs clearance and logistic data interchange 24 hours a day via Chongqing's cross-border e-commerce platform.
