The Chongqing Bonded Trade Center opened its doors to the public on Oct 18, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

A variety of imported goods such as seafood, fruit and alcohol are available at the trade center. It also features characteristic country halls, including the German Hall, Japanese Hall and South Korea Hall, all of which house goods particular to those countries.

Approximately 20,000 items of goods are sold in the trade center. From January to September, the business transitions of the center accounted for 4 billion yuan ($62.92 million). The bonded trade center is currently promoting a cross-border ecommerce mode to construct a comprehensive platform for the sales of imported goods.

The German Hall opened to the public in October and covers 600 square meters. Approximately 300 German goods are sold in the shop, including imported vehicles and household items. The majority of the goods in German Hall were transported to the bonded port via the Yuxinou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) International Railway.

"We purchased the goods from the producers in Germany directly which helps us save 10 percent to 20 percent," said Yang Jie, general manager from the Yuxinou(Chongqing) International Trading Company.
