Chongqing General Aviation Co, Ltd sent one of its helicopters to Karachi, Pakistan, on March 7, Chongqing Daily reported.
This is the first time the aviation company has exhibited a helicopter overseas.
The Engstrom 280FX Helicopter is expected to reach Pakistan by the end of March and will be exhibited there for a month, mainly at air shows.
The craft is known for its excellent performance and safety record. It is regarded as a “racing car of the air” by industrial experts.
Engstrom helicopters are mainly used for tourism, fire-fighting, emergency rescue and training and have been sold throughout China. The company has signed purchase orders with Sichuan and Xinjiang. It will help those provinces to construct tourism complexes which will benefit local industries. It has also sold over 1,200 helicopters in Europe, North America, South America, South Asia and Oceania.
Huang Yong, president of Chongqing General Aviation Co, noted that the company will focus on research and development and improved services to enhance the influence of the Engstrom brand with the aim of accessing a global market.
