Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area said on Aug 7 a mobile parking service app is now available to the public.
The app was designed by a Chongqing parking service company to help the Liangjiang area with its intelligent construction.
The application uses the earth’s magnetism to recognize vehicles entering parking slots.
As a car drives into a parking slot equipped with the magnetic device, the app starts timing. Parking administrators then record the car’s plate number in a computer. The driver can pay the parking fee through WeChat or Alipay when driving away.
Problems such as lack of change and timing disputes can be avoided thanks to the small app.
The area has installed the device in 2,000 parking slots. The app also informs drivers of empty parking spots and offers a navigation service.
The app will benefit 4000 inner-road parking slots by 2017. It also intends to cover more slots on road sides and inside buildings.
