Taking the opportunity of the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, Chongqing Port Logistics Group and Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group signed a cooperation agreement on June 17.
According to the agreement, both sides will jointly develop and utilize the Yangtze River, Jialing River, Tuojiang River and other main and tributary waterways to build railway-waterway and waterway-waterway intermodal channels based on Huoyuan Port, Wanzhou Port, Yibin Port, Luzhou Port and other main ports.
They will cooperate on enhancing port operations, multimodal transport, channel development, whole process logistics and supply chain finance to co-build a shipping center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
The cooperation is expected to promote inland opening-up, accelerate international logistics hub construction, reduce logistics costs, optimize services for real economy development, and build a more attractive business environment.
As the builder and operator of Chongqing Port, Chongqing Port Logistics Group strives to provide a convenient logistics channel service for the Chengdu-Chongqing area.
Guoyuan Port, which is operated by the group, has finished the construction of a multimodal transport system, and cooperated with multiple cities in Sichuan province such as Panzhihua, Xichang, Nanchong and Guangyuan to build a shipping system with direct access to rivers and seas.
