Youths from Sichuan, Chongqing, Hong Kong and Macao attended an innovation and entrepreneurship meeting on Dec 14 in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.

The meeting was held simultaneously via video link at four venues located in the four cities so that youths unable to travel to Liangjiang could participate. It introduced the planning of the Chengdu-Chongqing Regional Economic Circle and policies and services for youth development. It also allowed youths to share their experiences starting up businesses.

Wu Wei, director-general of the communication department from the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, said that the meeting could enhance the cooperation between the Sichuan-Chongqing area and Hong Kong-Macao area in commerce and culture.

The accelerated construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Regional Economic Circle has provided opportunities for young entrepreneurs from the four areas.

The universities in Sichuan, Chongqing, Hong Kong and Macao should cooperate to cultivate more technological companies, and Sichuan and Chongqing's supporting policies will attract more talents.

In May 2019, Chongqing's innovation and entrepreneurship base for Hong Kong and Macao youths was established in Liangjiang, becoming a platform for the circulation of talents and resources.

In the future, the base will provide more opportunities and services to attract more Hong Kong and Macao youths to start businesses in Chongqing.

Meanwhile, Liangjiang is accelerating the attraction of talents relying on national innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases. The area now has 310 scientific research platforms above the municipal level, about 2,000 technological companies, more than 500 high-tech companies and more than 600 companies being cultivated at 40 innovation and entrepreneurship carriers, over 70 percent of which are junior enterprises.
