A new mobile cabin hospital constructed by the First People's Hospital of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area has now opened and is capable of delivering up to 5,000 COVID-19 jabs per day, according to local news report on Aug 2.

The hospital was built and equipped in just one night, and a total of eight registration sites and eight vaccination sites have been set up there. Gao Zhenfeng, president of the First People's Hospital of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, said that the medical supply distribution, field arrangement, information networks, and disinfection work of the mobile cabin hospital were completed in less than an hour.

The hospital is a multiple-floor structure with segregation belts set up in the registration area, a vaccination area, and an observation area. Volunteers are available to offer guidance to patients and help avoid cross infections.

"All areas are ventilated and disinfected every day, and medical waste is collected by specific personnel and transported by designated trucks in order to avert infection," Gao said.

Considering the high temperatures in Chongqing, medical workers have installed large electric fans and air-conditioners to keep the hospital cool and ventilated.

The inoculation lasts from 7 am to 8 pm, making it possible for people to receive jabs according to their own schedules.
