5.4b yuan invested in Liangjiang's new lithium cell project

The Chongqing Liangjiang New Area signed a cooperation agreement with Ganfeng Lithium Group on Sept 1, which stated that the company will make an initial investment of 5.4 billion yuan ($810 million) in the new area to build the Ganfeng New Cell Technology Industrial Park and an advanced cell research institute.

This is also another major project after the implementation of the chain chief system and the establishment of industrial functional areas. The move is significant in that it will further extend and strengthen the new energy industrial chain in Liangjiang.

Lithium cells are a crucial part of the new energy sector and are widely applied in electronic products, electric vehicles, and industrial energy storage. Ganfeng Lithium is a forerunner in the global solid battery field, ranking first globally in patent numbers. The company now has many cell research centers and manufacturing bases in Xinyu, Dongguan, Huizhou, Suzhou, and Ningbo.

Lithium cells are a core business of the company's ecological chain in the industry. Cells independently developed by Ganeng Lithium have been employed in electric buses, airport facilities, rail transportation, 5G intelligent devices, and medical equipment. The company is also able to offer systematic solutions to users.
