Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality has taken strict and systematic measures to respond to the recent resurgence of the coronavirus and safeguard residents' lives and health.

A special team consisting of 11 officials for normalized pandemic containment was formed on March 14, with each of its members responsible for sub-divided work groups.

In addition to the designated nucleic testing sites set up by local hospitals, the government has added two additional testing sites near the railway station and the police station to offer basic medical services.

On March 13, official research visits were launched to the new area's construction sites, parks, public washrooms, waste transfer stations, cold-chain transportation sites, ports and bus stations to ensure that they are disinfected and ready for sudden virus outbreaks.

A work session on campus safety was held on March 12, after which Liangjiang's off-campus training institutions were urged to meet pandemic prevention requirements.

Similar investigations were also launched in theaters and bookstores to minimize the possibility of infections.
