Conference launches for World Standards Day

The launching conference of the first Chongqing Standardization Publicity Week as well as the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Scientific and Technological Standards Collaborative Innovation Demonstration Zone were held in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on the 53rd "World Standards Day" on Monday.

According to the cooperation framework agreement signed by Chongqing Municipal Market Supervision Bureau and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, the city's first science and technology standard collaborative innovation demonstration zone will be established.

At the conference, Chongqing Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone was granted as a "National Technical Standards Innovation Base". Six scientific research institutes and enterprises in the zone were awarded "Technical Standards Innovation Research Center" status. The base and center will attract international and domestic professional latents in the collaborative innovation.

October 14 will mark the 53rd "World Standards Day", and the city will organize a weekly standardization publicity event around the day starting this year. The theme for World Standards Day 2022 is "A Shared Vision for a Better World", and China having the theme of "Standardization in the Digital World".

World Standards Day is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide that develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.

The launching conference marks the official opening of Chongqing's first standardization publicity week.
