Chongqing municipality in Southwest China signed a series of cooperation contract agreements with China's tech giant Huawei on Jan 30, which focused on fields such as automobiles, artificial intelligence, and smart city.

Chongqing is currently seeking to closely integrate its digital economy and real economy, and has made significant progress in the digital transformation of manufacturing businesses, digital economy, and new infrastructure.

Having been operating in Chongqing for many years, Huawei has also made remarkable achievements and contributed to Chongqing's economic development and industrial upgrading.

AITO – one of the most eye-catching new energy vehicle (NEV) brands of 2022 – is the result of the joint efforts made by Huawei and SERES, a domestic automaker based in Chongqing. At a motor show in April 2021, the two companies announced their partnership – Huawei will provide the latest intelligent connected systems for SERES, and will allow it to display and sell its new production models in Huawei's flagship stores around China.

Industry insiders believe that SERES is among the second tier of top NEV makers after Li Auto, Xpeng, and Nio.

AVATR is another successful NEV brand jointly created by Changan, Huwei and CATL. In August 2022, its first production model officially entered the market.

In fact, the Chongqing-Huawei collaboration extends far beyond the automotive field and includes laptop manufacturing, 5G network construction, AI innovation and other cutting-edge fields.
