Chongqing's first park-style marriage registration office opens

Chongqing's first park-style marriage registration office was unveiled on March 31. 

Located next to the Gleetour Hotel on Lijia Street, the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Marriage Registration Office will take advantage of its scenic location to provide new couples with a romantic place to mark their special day.

The office has a floor area of more than 800 square meters. Its main building has a heart-shaped design, which indicates eternal love. The colors of its exterior are mainly red and white, indicating the passion and purity of love.

The office is comprised of areas for marriage consultation and registration, and two halls - one for marriage-themed culture exhibition and the other being where couples receive their marriage certificates.

People (one or both parties) whose household registration is located or live on one of the following eight sub-districts of Yuanyang, Renhe, Tiangongdian, Cuiyun, Dazhulin, Lijia, Jinshan and Kangmei can apply for their marriage registration here.

In the park, newlyweds can take photos against the backdrop of the romantic Chongqing Eye Ferris wheel in Happy Valley to record their happy moment.

The office also gives each newlywed couple a cute "love passport" as a souvenir. They can come back to collect badges for their “love passport" on wedding anniversaries.

The working hours of the office are 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:30 on weekdays, and the appointment service is available on holidays. Residents can make an appointment via the official WeChat account of Liangjiang New Area's Social Security Bureau 2 to 30 days in advance.
