Expo focuses on intelligent transition

The Smart China Expo 2023 is being held in South China's Chongqing municipality from Sept 4 to 6. During the event, forums for the new energy vehicle (NEV) intelligent cockpit ecosystem and manufacturing digital transformation are set to take place.

Liangjiang New Area, as the main engine and battleground for the economic and social development of Chongqing, has gathered nearly 10,000 active market entities in the digital economy, with the added value of its digital economy accounting for one-third of Chongqing's total. Its software and information service industry scale exceeds 100 billion yuan ($13.89 billion), accounting for one-third of Chongqing's total. A total of 22 smart factories and 107 digital workshops have been built.

The Zhaomushan district is widely recognized as the epicenter for digital economy advancement in Liangjiang. It has successfully drawn in over 80,000 skilled professionals and is home to more than 5,000 businesses. Through its efforts, this region has established industrial clusters and supply chains for a wide range of sectors, including industrial internet, automotive and new platform software, industrial software, and digital content production.

With the boost of the digital economy, the automobile industry in Liangjiang New Area is becoming more high-end, intelligent, and sustainable. In the first half of the year, the automotive industry in the administrative area of the new area achieved 79.02 billion yuan in output value, a year-on-year growth of 2.8 percent. The production of NEVs reached 113,000, a year-on-year increase of 63 percent, accounting for 74.2 percent of Chongqing's total.
