The second Forum of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Development was held in Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Oct 24.
The event was organized by Chongqing and Sichuan federations of social sciences and was addressed by Luo Lin, secretary of Liangjiang's Party work committee.
Nearly 300 scholars and specialists from universities and social science research institutions throughout China attended the forum.
Economist Jia Kang delivered a keynote speech on optimizing the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle development strategy, elaborating on the significance of advancing industrialization and urbanization for the development of western metropolitan areas and urban agglomerations, analyzing the basic condition and main purpose of developing the economic circle, and providing targeted suggestions.
Jiang Changyun, deputy director of the Institute of Industrial and Technological Economy at the China Macro Economy Research Institute, discussed his thoughts on the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, focusing on five key words: industrial integration, niche economy, user-centered approach, network effect, and business environment. He emphasized the need for stability and sustainability in optimizing the business environment.

Sichuan University was elected as the third rotating chairman of the forum, and will hold the third Forum of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Development in 2024.
