Yufu New City's industrial output tops 115b yuan

Statistics indicate that from January to November this year, Yufu New City in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, achieved 115 billion yuan ($16.03 billion) in industrial output, a whopping surge of 21.5 percent.

Boasting 32 production models and 672,000 in automobile output over this period, the new city produces about 30 percent of Chongqing's total vehicles. Among them, 250,000 are new energy vehicles (NEVs), including Changan Deepal 03, AITO M5, and Avatr 11, accounting for 65 percent of Chongqing's gross NEV output.

Having Changan, SERES, and other automakers, Yufu New City is also laying out its core new energy and intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) spare part supply system, introducing manufacturers of batteries, engines, auto seats, and other segments.

Over the first 11 months of this year, the new city's 44 auto component providers above a designated size reported 16.4 billion yuan of output, a year-on-year increase of 8.7 percent.

By the end of November, Yufu New City had been home to technology-oriented firms, 39 national high-tech enterprises, 37 sophisticated and specialized companies, three State-level research institutions, 17 municipal technology centers, four industrial technology innovation alliances, 10 authorized smart factories, and 26 digital workshops.
