This year, the Guoyuan Port freight trains via the New Western Land-Sea Corridor have maintained a high-quality development momentum, with 623 trains dispatched in the first 11 months, representing a year-on-year increase of 42.9 percent.

In recent years, Chongqing's intelligent connected and new energy vehicles have shown rapid development, leading to an increase in export demand. "Compared to traditional road transportation, railway transportation is more efficient. The New Western Land-Sea Corridor provides stable services for Changan Auto's overseas exports, ensuring the quality of vehicle transportation and saving 15-20 days compared to traditional transportation," said Wang Di, senior manager of Changan Auto's vehicle logistics department.

In the first 11 months of this year, Changan Auto's cumulative overseas sales reached 220,849 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 38.1 percent.

In September of this year, the Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor in Liangjiang New Area (2023-27) was officially introduced, stating that by 2027, the cumulative number of Guoyuan Port freight trains via the New Western Land-Sea Corridor would exceed 6,000, with the throughput of over 300,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of containers, driving the total value of foreign trade imports and exports in the new area to reach 400 billion yuan ($55.72 billion).
