Over the past four years, State-owned enterprises in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality and Sichuan province have been leading the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, by making solid progress in infrastructure building, logistics, finance and other areas.

Last year, Chongqing State-owned enterprises undertook 120 major projects worth 882.08 billion yuan ($122.87 billion), and by the end of 2023, about 99.87 percent of the projects have been fulfilled, with the majority of them being related to the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.

Sichuan's State-owned enterprises took charge of 365 economic circle investment projects, involving a total investment of 1.32 trillion yuan. Among them, 10 projects are based in Chongqing.

In 2021, Chongqing Logistics Group Co also worked with Sichuan Port and Shipping Group Co to set up a logistics company for port and shipping businesses, to boost the coordination between the port resources and shipping demands in the two places.

So far, Guoyuan Port in Liangjiang New Area has public feeders for container transit, which are now being operated on a regular basis.

Over the past three years, the China-Europe (Chengdu-Chongqing) freight train reported fast freight scale growth, increasing goods value, optimized cargo structure, expanded regional cooperation, and stable operation. From January to November 2023, the freight train had recorded more than 500 trips.
