At Changan Auto's factory in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, 15 out of every 100 new cars are set to be exported.

"Our orders saw a significant increase in January, and we are currently working at full capacity to meet the demand," said Gai Yitian, a manager of the factory.

Currently, the factory is churning out Changan's new products. Its export orders cover multiple countries and regions, including Thailand, Russia, Colombia, Chile, and Qatar.

Changan invested a total of 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) to establish its new workshop in Yubei district, which is set to commence production soon.

The new workshop covers an area of approximately 77 hectares and employs full 5G connectivity technology. It features 16 major intelligent manufacturing scenarios and a 20-percent increase in manufacturing efficiency.

In addition to the traditional stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly processes, the new workshop also includes seven new major processes, such as software testing, battery packs, and integrated die-casting. It is expected that after the new workshop is put into use, it will be capable of producing 280,000 new energy vehicles annually, with an annual output value of no less than 50 billion yuan.

In January, Changan sold 323,182 vehicles, an increase of 90.2 percent compared to the same period last year. Its overseas sales during this time reached 46,620 vehicles, a surge of 173 percent.
