Liangjiang launches 32 major projects in Q1

Liangjiang New Area held a commencement and commissioning ceremony on Jan 2 for 32 major projects slated for the first quarter of the year.

With a total investment of 44.2 billion yuan ($6.06 billion), these projects cover a wide range of sectors, including intelligent connected new energy vehicles, next-generation electronic information manufacturing, industrial parks and supporting infrastructure, and social undertakings.

Of the projects, 22 will commence soon, representing an investment of 14.3 billion yuan, while 10 will be completed soon, with a total investment of 29.9 billion yuan.

One of the most important projects is the second phase of the construction of the Changan Automobile Global R&D Center, which has already started. The project, with a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan, will focus on advanced automotive technology research and design.

It will enable Changan Automobile to develop leading domestic and world-class capabilities in these areas, establishing Liangjiang as a hub for original intelligent vehicle technology and automotive design.

Another major development is the second phase of the Guoyuan Port International Hub Industrial Park, which has already commenced operations. The project includes the construction of office buildings, commercial buildings, apartments, hotels, and parking garages.

It will complement the first phase of the industrial park, promoting Guoyuan Port as a nationally leading, comprehensive logistics hub.

The projects also extend to education, transportation, and healthcare. These initiatives aim to address existing weaknesses in the area's urban development, further improving urban functions and creating a high-quality living environment for residents.

For instance, construction has already begun on the Xinghu Middle School. Covering a land area of approximately 69,800 square meters and a building area of about 66,800 square meters, this project involves a total investment of approximately 630 million yuan. The school will provide 4,200 enrollment slots, significantly enhancing educational infrastructure in the area.
