In January, the Guoyuan Port National Logistics Hub in Liangjiang New Area reached a significant milestone by handling 96,000 commercial vehicles, a 41.1 percent increase compared to the previous year.

This impressive growth highlights Guoyuan Port's strategic role as a key player in Chongqing's ambitious auto export initiative, launched in 2023. The initiative aims to boost Chongqing's annual vehicle exports to 10 percent of China's total by 2027. In 2024, the port exported 54,000 vehicles valued at approximately 5 billion yuan ($690.70 million).

The port is also expanding its automotive knocked down parts distribution and packaging operations. This model enables companies to ship auto parts to overseas factories for assembly, reducing concerns about after-sales service and spare parts supply in single-batch trades.

Zhang Yang, general manager of Guoyuan Port Hub Co, emphasized exploring a comprehensive warehousing model that includes inland bonded, border forward, and overseas warehouses. Zhang added that this approach aims to provide customers with a seamless "factory-to-market" logistics service, enhancing the efficiency and reach of Chongqing's auto exports.
