Renhe subdistrict in Liangjiang New Area is a leader in using digital technologies to revolutionize the management of aging residential neighborhoods.

Through the integration of 21 cutting-edge applications, the collection of an impressive 296,000 data points, and connection with 84,400 perception devices, the subdistrict has established a system focusing on an intelligent control room, targeted support for key population groups, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution.

The intelligent control room gathers data on population demographics, housing conditions, and public facilities in old neighborhoods, establishing a robust governance database.

In response to the limited services available to elderly residents, children, and the unemployed, the subdistrict has interconnected various applications to streamline access to essential welfare services, employment assistance, and community engagement opportunities.

Zou Yuan, a 38-year-old beneficiary of these efforts, exemplifies the impact that has been made: "After a year of unemployment, the subdistrict tailored a personalized assistance plan based on AI data analysis, securing me a position at a decoration design engineering company."

Efforts have also been made to address holiday childcare needs, helping 1,168 individuals across 39 sessions and achieving a 100 percent childcare rate.

Li Jianbin, Party secretary of the subdistrict, emphasized the significant impact of the Smart Governance Platform, which has issued 1,749 alert messages, enhanced emergency response capabilities, and enabled prompt resolutions in old residential areas.

The subdistrict's commitment to public welfare is evident through the implementation of 102 initiatives, including the establishment of designated parking areas and state-of-the-art fitness facilities, benefiting 7,256 individuals with specialized care services.

AI-powered cameras have identified and reported 1,477 instances of abnormal behavior, leading to a remarkable 60 percent increase in efficiency in managing hazards and incidents compared to traditional methods.
