Two Currency Exchange shops have opened in Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport making it more convenient for tourists for their currency exchange.

Both currency exchange shops in the airport are small but cater for 20 currencies, including the popular Thai Baht and Japanese Yen.

Customers are required to provide identification before they can exchange money. Those lacking sufficient identification can still exchange money by providing their ID card number, since all the identification information will be available from the money shop’s online system.

"The money exchange shops' target customers are those who need small amounts of foreign exchange. For example, Chinese travelers who are just back from other countries may have some foreign currencies left over. In this case, they don't have to go to the bank and the currency exchange shop in the airport can provide them convenience. However, if people need to change large amounts of money, the bank would be a better choice," said a senior of the finance industry.
