A drilling and tapping production line was launched by Chongqing Huashu Robot Ltd Company recently to produce and process metal parts for the 3C industry. The 3C industry is comprised of the computer, communication and consumer electronics industries.

The research and development of the production line started last December and underwent a pilot test run in April. The line is expected to be put into mass production in the second half of this year.

Huashu's independent research and development conducted for the production line is regarded as a big breakthrough in the development of a domestic numerical control system.

During the production process, robots can automatically send products to specified machine tools. After the production process is complete, robots will send the products to warehouse.

"In accordance with the labor cost of 60,000 yuan ($9,684) per person, per year, a production line with robots can help us to save around 180,000 yuan ($29,034) of labor cost per year," said a senior from Chongqing Huashu Robot Ltd Company.

The 3C industry embodies the computer, communication and consumer electronics industries. According to statistics from the China Tool Association, the sales volume of traditional manufacturing equipment started to decrease in 2012, around the same time that sales volume of emerging industry equipment from the 3C industry started to increase.
