Construction work on the Baiyun Village Park project will begin in Liangjiang at the end of 2015, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee. As part of the project, an ecological leisure park will be built to enrich the lives of local people and provide a place of leisure.

The origins of Baiyun village date back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), remnants of which now form a protected historic site in Yubei district.

The park's construction plan reveals that when finished, Baiyun Village Park will cover a total area of 41,083 square meters, including 37,191 square meters of green spaces.

The construction of the park will be based on the principle of protecting the natural environment, landscape and cultural resources, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

Authorities in Chongqing municipality recently released a city construction plan which revealed that 15 new parks will be constructed in Liangjiang New Area. These will include four wetland parks and one country park.

A mountain protection list has also been released as part of the plan. It states that mountains with obvious geographical features should gain preferential protection.
