The Chongqing Education Commission plans to cooperate with Nanyang Technological University in cultivating 300 university presidents in five years time, cqnews.net reported.

Under the guidance of the commission, Chongqing Normal University will cooperate with Nanyang Technological University in implementing the plan. The two will develop syllabi and course contents together.

Presidents who are eligible to take part in the one year program will spend half a year in Chongqing and the other half in Singapore.

The two parties will co-establish a China-Singapore Teachers Professional Development Institute, and adopt principles of both “Going global” and “bringing in”.

The Chongqing Education Commission encourages local schools to have exchanges with schools in Singapore. The authority will also host a regular Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Presidents Forum to offer opportunities for university presidents in Western China to exchange with their counterparts in Singapore.
