The KASIT program is an international cooperative program of Chongqing University of Technology and KAIST. Its campus is located at Chongqing’s Longxing International Park.

The KAIST program accepts undergraduates into two majors, “Electronic Information Engineering” and “Computer science and technology”, from Chongqing, Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. These students make huge progress in terms of analytical skills and English proficiency in a year’s study in KAIST’s undergraduate program. Now, upon graduation they may apply to the KAIST postgraduate program.

The program uses KAIST’s curriculum and teaching methods. All the mandatory courses are given in English by professors hired globally. Students may choose to study in Korea.

Each students is assigned two mentors, one from KAIST’ s electronic engineering or computer science department, the other from Chongqing University of Technology.

After completing the post-graduate program, students can continue studying in KAIST or go to other leading European and American institutions. They also have the choice of joining research teams led by IEEE, or they may go directly to work if they have recommendations from professors.

The tuition fee of the Liangjiang KAIST international postgraduate program is 38,000 yuan per year. Students are entitled to scholarships and grants. On average they receive 108,000 yuan over three years, but students with good performance records receive scholarships as high as 202,000 yuan over that period.

Starting in 2016, the program will expand to Henan and Hebei province to recruit 200 people.

KAIST is directly under the leadership of Korea's Future Science and Technology Department. It ranks 43rd IN the 2016 QS Work University Rankings.

KAIST has a long-term and close relationship with Korean companies including Samsung, Hyundai, LG and SK. It is expected to provide talented people to Korean companies operating in Liangjiang and throughout the information industry in Chongqing Municipality.
