Over 1,000 staff members from 30 property service companies went head-to-head at a property service skill competition held by Liangjiang New Area government on Oct 29.

The competitors were divided into four groups of customer service, house-keeping, public security and engineering maintenance, depending on their profession

Each group took part in various activities such as live customer service tasks, a cleaning knowledge quiz and an electric motor repair activity. The activities were designed to test work and hospitality skills.

Five unmanned aerial vehicles and several patrol cars performed an unusual show at the opening ceremony of the competition. The unmanned aerial vehicle has become widely used among property service companies to go on patrol, carry out garden maintenance and inspect illegal building activities.

More than 170 property service companies have settled down in the Liangjiang New Area, providing services for a residential area in excess of 43 million square meters. There are approximately 24,000 staff members working in the industry in the Liangjiang New Area, according to Zhou Jianming, deputy inspector of the Liangjiang New Area Management Committee.

“The property service industry plays an important role in improving city management and living environments. The competition aims to strengthen skills and service manners among members of the service industry,” said Zhou.
