The Cuntan international city exhibition center and Cuntan international city shopping area in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, was put into operation recently, bringing Chongqing a step closer to building itself into one of China's international consumption centers, according to local news reports on Feb 11.

Cuntan New City consists of three parts – a cruise home-port area, a bonded economic area, and a shopping area, and the exhibition center is located in the cruise home-port area, with a total construction area of 4,860 square meters and a height of 23.8 meters. It is responsible for investment promotion, city planning exhibitions, and other functions for the new city.

The center boasts three floors, one of which displays history and culture and the latest city planning information for the new city, one of which provides immersive experiences for visitors, and one of which offers multi-purpose halls.

The shopping area is 2,200 meters long and is located near Yudu Avenue and the trunk road of Jinyu Avenue. It has also brought in renowned brands, including Outlets, IKEA, Meilian, and Maxim.
