Liangjiang New Area issued 10 measures to support women in the science and technology industry on March 3 at the event celebrating International Women's Day.

The measures include enhancing the review and incentives mechanism, establishing platforms to facilitate female entrepreneurs, regularly recognizing outstanding females, developing a caring working environment, and encouraging female students to pursue science and technology.

They also focus on women's participation in social affairs and economic development.

According to the measures, exchange and communication mechanisms will be set up, including regular sessions of the salon, conference and seminar, female talents will receive support to participate in international conferences, academic programs abroad, and major topics such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, "Belt and Road" Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

The measures aim to provide systematic solutions to address difficulties faced by women and to encourage them to pursue careers in science and technology, said Liu Lingyun, chairwoman of the Liangjiang New Area Women's Federation, which initiated the measures.

Seven women-led teams and two female models received municipal-level honors at the event, and 10 female workers with outstanding performance in Liangjiang New Area were also awarded.

Song Wen, vice president of Chongqing Qiteng Technology who won the award, told the press that the measures will attract more talent to Liangjiang New Area, especially female talent.

"Female workers need to balance family and career. The measures include the establishment of a fertility-friendly working environment and a series of female-care plans, which I believe will relieve stress on female workers and improve our scientific research environment", Song said.
