In a landmark development, Liangjiang New Area, representing Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, solidified its bond with the Lingang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone during a recent visit by a high-level delegation from May 7 to 9.

During their visit, the Liangjiang delegation gained invaluable insights into the socio-economic landscape of the special area and garnered significant development experience. Building upon this knowledge, the two parties inked a strategic collaboration through the signing of a comprehensive partnership contract.

Of paramount importance among their joint endeavors is the establishment of robust industrial clusters, with a particular focus on intelligent car manufacturing and strategic emerging sectors. By synergizing their efforts in business promotion and industry transfers, both regions aim to seamlessly integrate their supply and industrial chains, fostering an environment conducive to long-term growth.

In addition, the partnership envisions the strengthening of high-quality shipping services coordination. To this end, the Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the Yangshan Free Trade Zone will intensify their collaboration and exchanges, seeking new measures to optimize the land-sea transport model and drive the development of free trade zone.

In recognition of the pivotal role played by talent, the two regions have pledged to establish a regular two-way communication mechanism for fostering the exchange, training, and study of professionals in science, technology, finance, and business promotion. This concerted effort aims to facilitate greater connectivity and knowledge sharing between Liangjiang New Area and Lingang Special Area.
