BIT's 3rd Annual World Congress of Advanced Materials (WCAM 2014) was held in Chongqing June 6 to June 9, 2014 at the Yuelai International Convention Center. WCAM 2014, which was organized by BIT Congress Inc, was themed the "Dream of Ubiquitous Smartness". It is reported that the Congress will be held each year in June at the Chongqing Yuelai.
A total of 500 world-renowned experts, academicians, senior scientists, industry executives and project leaders from more than 50 countries joined together to address the topics, issues, best practices and trends necessary to make decisions to guide forward their business strategies, and the future science and technology direction.
Three speakers who have won the Nobile Prize were invited to deliver a speech at the symposium. They were Dr. Dan Shechtman, who is a Philip Tobias Professor of Materials Science, Israel Institute of Technology, and who won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in2011; Dr. Albert Fert who is Scientific director of L’Université Paris-Sud, France that won the Nobel Prize in Physics 2007; and Dr. George F. Smoot who is Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, who won the Nobel Physics Prize in 2006.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
