As the first Chinese inland industrial park built by both China and the South Korean government, the China-Korea industrial park is going smoothly.
Liangjiang New Area (LNA) is becoming an important investment destination for South Korean enterprises in the course of enlarging their market from east China to inland and western China.
More and more South Korean enterprises are seeking investment opportunities in Liangjiang New Area and some achievements have been made by the South Korean and Chinese governments.
For example, the Hyundai company and Chongqing municipal government have signed a strategic cooperative agreement; the second phase of the construction of Hankook tire company has been started; and the South Korean SK lithium battery has begun commercial production in Liangjiang New Area.
During the 2014 China Chongqing-South Korea friendly week, many South Korean higher business representatives came to Chongqing to seek opportunities.
South Korea is also taking an interest in the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe International Railway-starting from Chongqing, entering Kazakhstan through the Alataw Pass, and continuing through Russia, Belarus and Poland before ending in Duisburg, Germany. Meanwhile, South Korea expects to seek more opportunities in the economic belts of the Silk Road and Yangtze River in Liangjiang New Area.
