From Sept 11 to 13, the largest robot exhibition in western China will be held at Yuelai international exhibition center, in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. New intelligent robots from around the world will be displayed, which will be a big feast for the people of Chongqing.
The 2014 Western China Industrial Automation and Robot Exhibition will be jointly held by the Chongqing Robot Industry Alliance and the Chongqing Central Shengshi Business Co.
In March, the Chongqing Robot Industry Alliance and the Chongqing Central Exhibition Co held an industrial automation robot exhibition in western China, attracting 14,857 professional visitors from industries such as industrial automation, automobile manufacturing, and motorcycle manufacturing, and 43 percent of the visitors reached cooperative intentions with exhibiting companies.
Wang Rui, secretary-general of the Chongqing Robot Industry Alliance, disclosed that, since last year, China has become the biggest robot buyer in the world. Data from IFR shows that China bought 36,560 sets of industrial robots in 2013, an increase of nearly 60 percent from 2012, and Japan was second, with 26,015, and the US ranked third. It was the first time that China exceeded Japan to become the country with the biggest buy of robots in the world. That is to say, in 2013, in every five sets of industrial robots sold in the world, one was bought by China.
Moreover, in Chongqing, due to the increase of labor costs, more enterprises are bringing in robot equipment, especially mechanical arms and assembly lines. according to a survey by the Chongqing Robot Industry Alliance, and by the first half of 2015, demand for robots in Chongqing will reach thousands of sets.
ABB, KUKA, FANUC and Yaskawa are known as the “four big families” in the robot industry throughout the world. ABB, KUKA and FANUC are taking part in the exhibition.
In addition, 50 robot enterprises including Siemens, Siasun, Sanyigao, Jiateng, Guangzhou Numerical Control, Bomeide, Chongqing Leibao, Huilai Intelligence, Yuanpu Robot, and Greatoo Inc are also likely to sign up for the exhibition. The exhibition has an area of 7,800 square meters, and has become the biggest professional robot exhibition in western China.
