The Liangjiang New Area, in the city of Chongqing, will unveil a new sewage treatment system and eldercare home in its Shuitu High-Tech Park by the end of this year. The area has long been working on the programs with the goal of improving local residents’ lives.

The bulk of the sewage plant – including its primary sedimentation tank, biochemical pool, mud treatment system and outbuildings – has already been completed.

According to the plan, the purified water from the new plant will achieve A-level status of the Urban Sewage Treatment Plant Pollutant Discharge Standards.

The eldercare home is aimed at providing high-quality services to poor elderly residents of the Shuitu and Fuxing districts in Liangjiang New Area. The 12,000-square-meter home is built in the architectural style of a traditional Sichuan residence and has 340 bunks.
