The main building construction of Jiangbei International Airport's East Terminal - T3A – has entered its final stage.
All underground construction of the main building is expected to finish before the Spring Festival next year; and by the end of next year, 50 percent of the glass curtain wall will be installed and airside, 60 percent of the total project will have been completed.
The project includes a China Eastern Airlines station area, and a third runway 3800 meters long in addition to the 500,000 square meter T3A terminal. Once the Eastern station area and the third runway project is completed and put into use, it will create an airport with three runways, a 700,000 sq m terminal, and a transit rate of 20 percent.
The project will change the current situation of having just two close runways, and will be capable of landing the world's largest aircraft, the Airbus A380.
