The 2014 China Food Supply Chain Management and Warehouse Logistics Park Leaders Summit was recently held in Yuzui, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing Municipality. It was supported by the Ministry of Consumer Goods Industry, Department of Circulation Industry Development, Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and co-hosted by China Food Industry Association and Chongqing Municipal Commerce Commission.
Nearly 400 attendees from national cold chain logistics enterprises, logistics parks, food production and processing enterprises, restaurants, supermarkets, and the E-commerce sector attended the meeting.
Chongqing is a large consumer city which is home to more than 30 million people, and is also one of China's famous stove cities. Since the establishment of Chongqing Municipality, its economic development has been driven into the fast lane. At the same time, people's consumption concepts have changed and consumption levels have increased. The consumer demand for cold chain food has also grown rapidly.
Themed "developing Chinese cold chain business, boosting the healthy development of the food industry," attendees discussed the cold food chain development in southwest China, cold food chain logistics information traceability system planning and analysis, cold chain's support role for the development of fresh food e-commerce and other issues.
